Joe brings to Group VI over 35 years of construction supervision, project management, and estimating experience.  Because of Joe’s experience running sophisticated projects where tightly controlled field practices and procedures were critical for client satisfaction, he has managed some of Group VI’s largest and most important projects.

Responsibilities

At Group VI, Field Superintendents are responsible for overseeing the actions of each Group VI employee and each subcontractor working on site.  The Superintendent arrives when ground is broken and doesn’t leave until the project is completed and accepted by the owner.  It is the responsibility of the Superintendent to ensure that construction activities result in full compliance with drawings and specifications.  With the support of others in the project staff, the Superintendent must also ensure that quality requirements are met  and that job sites remain safe for all workers and visitors.

Relevant Project Experience

Phi Mu National Headquarters: Office space, conference and meeting rooms, residential apartments in three-story steel and brick structure.  Class A finish, with extensive use of millwork throughout.  Sophisticated environmental controls throughout building that far exceed typical systems used in office space.  Completion 2Q05.

North Georgia Medical Office Buildings: Two steel and brick structures, each about 30,000 square feet.  Housing manifold practices representing an array of specialties.  In addition to office space and examining rooms, radiology center and physical therapy facility within the structures.

Relevant Past Experience

Project Superintendent - Robert E. Lamb, Inc.: Specialized in managing projects under conditions where practices and procedures had to be strictly adhered to or risk severe consequences.

Project Manager / Superintendent - Frommeyer Construction Services, Inc.: A regional commercial construction company operating in the northeast.  In charge of field supervision of large office fit-outs in existing buildings. Also managed and supervised construction of a 40,0000 sq. ft. office/ warehouse complex from the ground up and commercial projects, including the Center Square Hotel and Restaurant in Center Square, PA.

Construction Coordinator - Friel Bernheim Company, Philadelphia, PA: A firm specializing in designing, building, and installing fixtures in shopping malls throughout the United States. Coordinated  superintendents in the field. Also responsible for reviewing all drawings.

Project Manager - Four Seasons, Charlottesville, VA: Responsible for all field operations within 225-acre mixed-use development that included single-family and multifamily residential structures and commercial office and retail/hospitality space.
